6. Mercury-Heavy Fish
Humans are most likely to be exposed to mercury by eating mercury-rich seafood.
Mercury is emitted into the environment by coal-fired power plants, where it travels great distances via the air before settling into large fish-containing rivers. Mercury is absorbed or ingested by smaller fish, which are subsequently eaten by larger fish, increasing their mercury content in the process
It follows that the riskier to consume predatory fish is the larger King mackerel, marlin, orange roughy, shark, swordfish, tilefish, ahi tuna, and bigeye tuna should be avoided (or at least severely limited).
