5. Fruit With Or After A Meal
The story: Another variation on “different times of your digestion” claims that fruit food is harmful with or after meals because fruits have been digested so quickly that they ferment in your stomach while waiting for food to be digested.
The reality: The sugars are very rapidly digested in the fruit, but the fruit also has fibers that absorb that sugar in your blood quite slowly. Actually, this is useful insecurity that avoids a dangerous blood sugar spike.
No fruit stays long enough to ferment in your stomach in any event. In fact, the stomach is so acidic that fermentation is impossible.
